Casting Away Confidence

Passage: Heb. 10:35
Service Type:

Bible Text: Heb. 10:35 | Preacher: Amy Carlson | Series: The Liberated Woman

Casting means to “throw away”.  God commands us to NOT cast away our confidence.

God is our shield; our protection.  Gen. 15:1; 2 Sam. 22:3 & 36; Ps. 28:7; 115:11; 119:114; Eph. 6:16.

Doubting God’s Provision

In our Finances

Planting seeds of Doubt
Phil. 1:10; 2 Tim. 2:22; Col. 2:8; Matt. 6:30
It is not my job to prove to you that it’s wrong, it’s every Christian’s job to prove that it’s excellent and the action is sincere and without offence.
When we get desperate, we begin grasping things outside of the will of God; justifying our actions. If you are going against scripture, it will never turn out right. KEEP GOD FIRST IN ALL THINGS! 1 Tim. 6:10

In our Relationships-

Prove things that are Excellent

Young people- 1 Tim. 4:12

Be an example to others because they are watching your actions and attitude.
God has a plan for you.  You are not insignificant. Don’t compromise; wait on the Lord.

Married Ladies- Prov. 21. 9

I Cor 13 applies to all of mankind and this kind of love is impossible in the flesh
Nagging, complaining, manipulating, rebellious against husband’s leadership, bitter/angry are all indicators we have cast away our confidence in God’s ability to work in your marriage and to care for us.

Doubting God’s Power-

Luke 8:25
Not seeing answers to prayer
The wicked seem to be winning

Doubting God’s Presence/Love

 John 3:16 and MANY more!
God’s love is based on truth, not feelings
Little seeds of doubt can lead to big trees with big roots
2 Cor 10:5 God can tear out the roots of doubt. 1 Pet. 5:7
Judgement of our casting, good or bad- Rev. 4:8-11.  We will be casting all through eternity.
Heb 10:35; Cot. 3:24

What we cast now will effect what we are able to cast at His feet later.

How far have we cast off our confidence in God?

How far have we cast our shield off, our protection, and opened ourselves up to the enemy?
