I.  The Planting of Spiritual Roots

A.  We must be planted in Christ

B.  We must pursue Christ- Ps. 1:1-3

1.  choose Him

2.  seek Him

3.  be planted in Christ

a.  Meditate on God’s Word day and night.  If you know the Word of                     God, you won’t get caught up in the things of this world and its                           cares.

b.  Acts 17:11; I Tim. 4:7

II.  The Prevention of Spiritual Roots- Col. 2:8

There is always someone or something trying to prevent you developing           spiritual roots.

A.  The culture of this world is an enemy.

Things seem innocent because they have been adopted it into the                       culture.  The world wants to carry us away from Christ.

1.  Romans 1:25; 2 Thess. 3:6

B.  The crowd of the ungodly is an enemy. Ps. 1:1

Our sense of sin will be in direct proportion to our walk with God.
